    Penetration Grades

    For different climatic and traffic conditions

    Penetration grade bitumen is classified based on hardness and penetration depth at standard temperature. These grades are suitable for a wide range of climatic conditions and traffic loads, and are widely used in road construction, highways, airport runways, and industrial routes. For example, harder grades such as 30/40 and 40/50 are ideal for very hot and high-traffic areas, grade 60/70 is suitable for moderate conditions with heavy traffic, and softer grades such as 80/100, 85/100, and 100/120 are ideal for cold and rainy regions. This variety allows contractors to ensure infrastructure durability and quality under different environmental conditions.

    Applications of Penetration Grades

    Penetration grades are classified based on bitumen hardness and adhesion and are considered the standard type of bitumen used in road construction projects. For example:

    • 30/40: Suitable for very hot climates and heavy traffic

    • 60/70: Widely used in moderate climates and busy roads
